My first game assignment as a freelance sports journalist for On3, covering Florida baseball’s midweek matchup against Jacksonville. This game recap highlights the Gators’ late-inning collapse while demonstrating my ability to deliver accurate, deadline-driven sports coverage through strong AP-style writing, game analysis, storytelling, attention to detail, and clear reporting under pressure.

Midweek madness strikes as Florida is stunned by Jacksonville

My second freelance game coverage for On3, reporting on Florida baseball’s rematch against Jacksonville at Condron Family Ballpark. As the Gators looked to avenge an earlier midweek loss with just 10 games remaining in the regular season, Jacksonville delivered another upset. This story demonstrates my ability to provide timely, accurate sports coverage through AP-style writing, game analysis, contextual reporting, and compelling storytelling while capturing the significance of late-season results and their impact on postseason positioning.

This is a local multimedia news story I did on a new card/collectibles shop that opened in Gainesville, Florida, drawing a lot of attention from local cities and vendors brining people together and having the community connect with one another.

Coverage on local Park Renovation: Pickleball?

A broadcast voiceover on very popular park in Gainesville, Florida saw some major renovations including upgraded bathrooms, new pickleball courts and new seating installments throughout the park.

Humane Society Adoption Event at First Mag Brewery

A multimedia video story covering a local pet adoption fundraiser hosted by the Humane Society at First Magnitude Brewery. The event brought the community together to raise funds for shelter dogs and help cover life-saving surgeries needed before many animals could become eligible for adoption. This project demonstrates my skills in multimedia storytelling, video journalism, on-location reporting, interviewing, visual sequencing, scriptwriting, and community-focused reporting while capturing the impact of local nonprofit initiatives.

A bilingual community feature highlighting the challenges faced by a local Gainesville bakery owner as they navigated complex city permitting requirements while advocating for greater recognition of locally owned businesses in a community dominated by national chain restaurants. This story showcases my Spanish-language interviewing skills, cross-cultural communication, feature writing, source development, community reporting, and ability to translate personal experiences into compelling, impactful journalism.
